Default JSGME question

First, I wasn't sure to ask this here, or in the Fleet boat mods, I decided to ask here.

Question 1. I have JSGME currently set up for SHIII. Do I need a separate installation for SH4? Or can I switch back and forth between the two?

Question 2. Should I use JSGME for all mods, including Webster's GMO, or what?

Thanks in advance.

Hi AL
Logically speaking yes because they are different formats.
If you had 2 different applications but both are SH4 games then they would need their own JSGME but are both sharing the original game format.
SH3-4-5 are all independent of each other.

If you plan on trying more than one of the mega-mods for SH4, you'll need a small utility called MultiSh4. Since you can't install the megamods in the same game folder as they aren't compatible together, MultiSh4 allows you to installed SH4 in separate game folders for each megamod.

You can find MultiSH4 here.

I always put a separate JSGME in each of the game directory files for SH3 and SH4. When you run that file you are working on that directory only and you can't screw up your installations. It's not like JSGME is so huge you need to conserve the space.

As long as JSGME is installed on your machine, you can put copies of JSGME.exe in any game directory you like. I use it for the SH games, of course, but also with Steam games like Left 4 Dead, GTA San Andreas, Fallout 3, etc. Nobody in those game communities has any idea that they could run JSGME to swap mods in and out at will. It works great on any game I've tried.
