Ball joints are okay, abs sensors are relatively easy to change as long as it's not rusted on but they can be quite pricey. I had to go genuine on one of my old cars, as the ones from ECP..etc didn't match. The price was £175 (Just for the part), for a tiny little sensor

The sensor was just short of £33 so the purchase and fitting of that and the ball joint came to a total of £90

Today we drove to Goettingen, invitation for a brunch. Stopped on a parking place for tea, trying to get back on the road the starter refused to work. Got the car push-started with a friendly polish lorry driver, and drove on. Checked cables and relays in Goettingen with a friend, only to realize the electric starter was indeed dead.
Maybe there is some planned obsolescence, that makes the car fall apart altogether within days?
