Our next-door neighbours, after years of complaining to B.T. about their lousy Broadband signal, have finally had a rooftop dish erected by another provider and it's transformed their service; the aerial is on the roof of the local hospital

I don't know who they're with now, but I'm going to ask... as well as how much... because since they jumped ship our B.T. signal has plummeted. I can't help thinking that the service out here has now been downgraded in some way.

I'm with Virgin Media and have had 70Mbps since being upgraded a year or so ago.

Last Tuesday my router died and it took up till yesterday to send a replacement and re-establish my connection.

I complained vociferously this morning and they have given me a months free service on my existing package (broadband, phone 'free calls 24/7', tv 'full package sports and movies') and upgraded me to 200Mbps.

Not often I get this sort of positivity so I'm making the most of it

Visited the ENT clinic and had a camera shoved up my nose! Good job it was not the other end, I hear those camera's are bigger and you come away smelling of pepper mints.

Over time tomorrow for me, ching ching...extra money in the bank for a quick visit before going on bills.

No chance, they will take a look at how long you are on the Internet and faint! They will say stop burning up the equipment take a year off.

Recuperating from yesterday's sail on the Bay. A little cold, overcast, and brisk to say the least...temps in the 50's! We were the only sailboat out there. Steady 10-15 knots winds from the east and the tide allowed use of the auto-tiller and the longest outing of the year, straight downwind toward the westerly approaches of greater San Pablo Bay, a portion of San Francisco Bay. Shipping and sea lions passed very close.

The captain, a long ham radio buff, broke out his new toy: KX2 ELECRAFT HAM RADIO and new 10' antenna on e stern rail. The static on my hearing aids was brutal !!! At 3 pm, winds dropping and tacking close-reached futile against the easterly breeze, we furled sails and motored all the way back east to the Marina ahead of the sunset; a two-hour trip with the inbound tide. The new paint job on the hull two weeks ago was worth it! -absolutely no water in the bilges!

<The captain had his fun until I, putting up with the horrific static in my Widex hearing-aids for 30 odd minutes, suggested 'We come out here to escape the world's racket.....!". He relented, and the radio off and peace restored: I then served lunch!
