It is not a vehicle built for the recovery of parts, nor is it a swamp boat/glider/fan. But there is something about aircraft wreckage and it being used for.. something else.

Hint: There once was peace, and a fair to be held. A famous german aviator of the time was forbidden to fly across certain british parts of Africa by plane, by british authorities.
So he and his plane made the journey by (a civilian) ship. 1st officer of said ship was a friend of my family. They arrived, and war broke out. WW1. The fair did not take place.

^ No, not a dirigible/Zeppelin's engine. Would have loved to post a pic of naval "Africa-airship" L-59 (operation China-Show), the first airship to cover 6000+ miles non stop in WW1, but this would have been too easy i think.

ok one more hint: this is indeed the engine of an aeroplane, with its propellor attached.

Steve and Jim should know, but maybe they hold back?
