Icon9 Help! Mods installing in root folder instead of MODS?

I have a question. I've installed the following mods via JSGME in this order:

Trigger Maru Overhaul 2.5
TMO_Sample_Emblem
RSRDC_TMO_502
RSRDC_V5xx_Patch1
Improved Stock Environment_V3_TMO&RFB

I've noticed that after enabling the mods that both the RSRDC_TMO_502 folder and Improved Stock Environment folder seemed to install into the root director of SH4 instead of the MODS folder. Is this supposed to happen? How do I actually know that RSRDC is installed? I've tried adding and subtracting off the mods multiple times with the same result. Any ideas? The game seems to play fine, but for some reason I think I screwed up along the way. Thanks in advance!

I keep all my downloaded Mods in Zip or RaR format in a separate folder. When I want to use one, I unpack (ok, I'm old - I mean "Extract") direct into the MODS folder in the game by clicking on the Zip or RaR file, highlighting the folder I want to install, then selecting the 'Extract To" folder, which is usually the second choice in the selection window. Then I click "Extract" and away it goes. One thing I've noticed is that sometimes it duplicates the extract, putting one set in the MODS folder and another in the Root folder. JSGME ignores the one in the Root folder, so I just delete it after checking it is actually in the Root folder. Hope this answers your question. Good Hunting!

Thanks for the tips. I deleted the folders in the root folder and it still seemed to show up under JSGME and didn't affect the game, so who knows! I'm still curious how you actually "know" the RSRD campaign files are working and in the game. Doesn't seem to show any indicatation of it on any menu or otherwise.

Does RSRDC change what ships/aircraft are in game?
If so, you can go to the museum and check if the list changes after install.

Edit:
It looks like it does change them.
I think there might be some other changes that are easy to get to quickly, like campaign start dates.
