Cerberus62,

Matey; I thank you for your endeavors in developing a mod that I think is an area of major concern within the realm of Silent Hunter V. The lack of ship variants or wrong ship variants throughout the world of "V" is blaspheme in my humble opinion, your mod gives back credibility to where the "V" needs it !

I also thank you for making your mod JSGME ready to go

Kind Regards

Ven

Thank you for this valuable mod, one question though, can it be enabled mid patrol, or only when in port?

You can enable this mod any time, you don't have to be in port. Also there's no need to start a new campaign. Just install with JSGME and you'll notice the changes the next time you start the game.

The game engine uses most of the merchant ships by chance, so it may take some time before you'll meet one of the "new" ships.

Happy sightseeing!

New version available

New version 1.0 available, introducing two more british ships (Dale class fleet oiler and a medium troop transport). See first posting of this thread for download information.

Links to v0.9 are obsolete.

Greets!

Dale Class fleet Oiler and medium Troopship?!? Wow! It is fantastic!

Smack the tankers!

Cerberus62, would be possible to put into the campaign Queen Mary as Liner ship or Troopship?

Thank you, Josef!

RMS Queen Mary IS already in the campaign. The probability of her appearance is (amongst others) triggered by the type defined in the \data\roster\names.cfg. Perhaps you'll never spot her, as she's got type 109, meaning she's a "Rare Troop Transport". Of course, it's simple to change this type to e. g. 103 (Troop Transport) or 102 (Cargo Ship), but then you'll meet three or four Queen Marys constipated in a convoy. That's quite unlikely and therefore undesirable in a simulation.

But if you want to sink the Queen Mary, I would suggest to create an appropriate situation with the Mission Editor, it's already contained in the game.

I'm thinking of adding this mod and have one question: Do these ships show up in the recognition manual pages? Just need to know if the draught information etc will be available for torpedo attacks.

Thanks,

Hello Cerberus62,

of course you´re right, but I did not know, that RMS Queen Mary is already in the campaign. I asked here on the forum and others captains have told me, that RMS Queen mary is only in bonus single mission.

Thanks for your information and ... I must meet this rare ship!
