Something pre-mid-1990s, no power steering, good MPG and nice and big and clunky.
A series IIa Long wheel base Land Rover would be good, but the MPG on those makes an Abrams seem fuel efficient.
I had a Nissan Cherry back when I was learning to drive, sadly before I could finish finances dictated that I had to stop and sell the car, but she was a nice little motor, no power steering either.

Eddies Morris police car looks nice

You have good taste in cars. I had one when I was a young fellow except mine was metallic green with the hidden headlights and the half vinyl roof. I got that puppy up to 120 and still had pedal left. I backed off to 90 because it started raining. I checked the rear view mirror and noticed that the back window wasn't even wet. Talk about a good slipstream design. The 318 was bulletproof too. The car was good for picking up chicks and flying through a twisty mountain road while blazing Radar Love from a pair of 6x9's with 80 ounce magnets, driven by an 8 track.

1967 Pontiac GTO

Hudson Hornet

A Kenworth Areodyne with some modern air suspension and A/C would not be bad

I wouldn't mind having one of these, the Phantom Corsair 1938.

Any sharp turns would remove the front skirts faster than a hooker on pay day.

Wow surely a rare car there I bet one would easily go for one million dollars at an auction.

That's a cool thing, the Phantom, it's a one off, it seems...

Yep one of a kind so pretty much priceless. That makes it worth millions easily that would be a true dream car as odds are rather low that you'll ever be able to own it even if you had the wealth to buy it.

i had one identical to this one and I was too young and foolish to hang onto it. I kick myself in the butt almost every day because I lost it.
1955 Packard Clipper Super Panama
Only 26 of this model built. I did some checking and mine had torsion bar suspension rather than springs, power brakes and standard steering.

Looks like an early repainted Batmobile from the rear

In my hunt for a new car, I've found two good candidates.

2001 Ford Focus identical to the one I used to have only it's an 01 and it's blue

1986 Dodge Shelby Charger Turbo

Focus - $2600
Shelby Charger - $900

Both are in great condition. Both are FWD. Both are Inline 4-Cylinder engines.

The Shelby might be cheaper, but the Focus is the better car for you given how the last one stood up.

That's what I'm thinking. The Ford Focus saved my life. I know it's for sure going to be a good car.

However, the Shelby Charger is unique. It's turbocharged but it shouldn't get too bad gas mileage. You can only do so bad with a 5-speed 4-cylinder.

I want to look and see if I can get a Fox-Body Mustang under $3000. If I can't get one of those, I'll definitely go for the Focus or Charger. My parents, in the end, have a lot of influence over whatever I buy.

You certainly do not need a 'go fast' car. You need a 'transportation' car (the Focus). But far be it for me to tell you what you do or do not need.
