Looks very interesting
...can't wait for this to get into beta.
I managed to finagle into the tail end of Kickstarter. Kickstarter beta should be sometime between yesterday and this Christmas...free to all open Beta shortly thereafter. It's taking a while to get out as Deep Water is a small studio. I like their idea of complex crew management, NextGen water simulation, with acoustical properties, Built to be Mod friendly Apparently, the boat simulation is unparalleled. You can zoom into functioning mechanicals like pumps etc., as they run. It might set a new bar? |

I'm wondering how the time compressed travel will work. My initial impression is that the world will feel a lot smaller than in the SH series. Might not be a problem at all..

Close 'Kickstarter' beta has not started yet. When it will start is anyone's guess. I suspect it will be later this month or maybe September. I understand that open (free) beta will be one month after Kickstarter beta kicks off.
I will post here when Kickstarter Beta begins and give early feedback. |

No NDA for the closed beta? I guess that isnt known yet, but I would imagine they put an NDA on that.. Anyway, much appreciated if you at least let us know when it starts! Although the dev will probably do that too..

nihilcat commented on Steam today, stating 150 bugs were addressed last week and are currently with QA and that Beta is just awaiting a green light from QA.
I'm guessing there may be some feedback from QA that will need solving, but my speculation would be that Beta is imminent. nihilcat stated he is very tired. Understandably, as I think he may be the only programmer. He may also be the sole PR department as the best English speaker. Hence the spartan news releases. Anyway nihilcat, if you read this All good things are worth waiting for. |

Yes. Obviously they struggle with PR as they are too few people.

Ditto, really looking forward to this one too. and I have high hopes for it. (I hope it a) works and b) sells really well)
I loved Silent Hunter Series and I loved 'This War of Mine' So to see those two games merged is no bad thing (though Uboat is more of the former than the latter) |
