Terrified Italian Soldiers make landing at Cartagena and hoist their flag above the ancient city!

Allied 4 AAF fight air battles with axis 2AAf , with the out-numbered axis air delivering an astonishing and desperate performance that allowed the ill-advised landing to proceed on schedule (Allies roll 5, axis roll 12)

After a brief period of euphoria the Italians rapidly dug in and prepared for the counterattack (and rumours say they are preparing their white flags!)

Isolated german armour unit makes last stand in an attack on a Russian armour unit in Kiev.

Tough fighting results in sever losses on both sides, but eventually the surviving Germans surrender to join their comrades in a happy future in Siberia.

Battle of the Atlantic Rages on

Further improvements in ASW by the allies

14 U-boats against 17 ASW and 12 CVEs

axis mods

NDRM 3
torpedoes +5
ports +2
US at war +1
total 10

allied mods
NDRM 3
ASW -5
CVEs -2
air range -2

total mod = +1 in favour of allies

Germany rolls 6 mod 5, a 2/8 result
allies roll 8 mod 9, a 4/9 result

1 u-boat gets through but this offset by -1 mod so no additional damage to the allies - 19 transports remain in the Atlantic. 4 U-boats lost

Still Germany is able to handle the rate of attrition and the U-boats are still forcing the allies to carefully use atlantic transports

Attrition in Russia costs Russia 8 counters, Attrition in China costs communists 2 and nationalists 3

The Baltic pocket is closed as thousands of starved and isolated axis troops surrender

Allied Air Forces Attack Japanese Air in Timor

General Douglas MacArthur in Australia makes the first moves in his campaign to push back the Japanese with a series of air attacks that eliminate the 2 AAF in Kupang, Timor at the cost of 2 USAAF flying from Darwin.

In a display of force the US Navy supplies the long beleaguered garrison in Port Moresby, under the noses of the Japanese, and lands strong reinforcements on New Guinea. Forces then advance into the Mountains of New Guinea separating allied Port Moresby from Japanese Lae

The Chindits led by Orde Wingate make an airdrop on Kupang, overwhelming the tiny japanese garrison, capturing the airfield within a few hours and taking control of the town a day later.

The region after the allied operation

Allies held up by German panzer regiment defending the pyrenees

nonetheless allies make contact with the "Oberon Line" connecting Bordeax through the fortified town of Vichy to the Alps

British and Canadian Commandos raid and seize Rotterdam!

Lord Lovatt leads a force of commandoes that take control of Rotterdam in the hours before dawn. Rumours of assistance by Dutch civilians are strongly denied by Churchill, possibly to avoid repercussions
