Default September 3rd 1939 - a new game

Tensions are rising on the continent. Since the abnegation of the Versailles Treaty, Germany has begun rearmament, occupied the Rhineland, annexed Austria and taken control of Czechoslovakia.

Now demands are being made of Poland that the French and British leaders finally consider unacceptable.

Germany attacks Poland, and an ultimatum is delivered by Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain. No response is made and consequently war has broken out again in Europe

In the Far East, Japan's attempt to carve itself a continental empire to rival the great powers at the expense of China is attracting the attention of the World, in no small part to the high profile state visits by Generalisimo Chiang Kai-Shek and his wife to the United States.

Special rules

MacArthur Philippine Training Program

This is an Intelligence Research Project

Cost 4 RPs
reduce USJT by 5

it permits addition of a 1-2 to the Philipine force pool each turn after implementation to a max of 4.

Operation Monsoon

If Japan has a fully supplied port in the South East Asian Front and Japan is at war with Britain, a single U-boat factor may NR to the Indian Ocean and operate there against allied shipping, regardless of whether or not Suez and Ethiopia is under allied control.

No more than 1 U-boat factor may operate in the Indian in this way

German attrition of India

The eastern hexes of Persia are adjacent to the India box and units there may attrition India in the same way as Japanese units adjacent to the India box in the Asian theater.

Axis SR through India

If India surrenders and Germany can draw a supply line from the india box into axis controlled Persia, and Japan can do likewise in the East, then Axis units may SR between theaters via India in the same way as Russia can do trhough the Urals.

I don't mind the pre-set places Joe, prevents me mucking up the first deployment

Can we have a new Newspaper thread when the game starts moving? I'd like to issue menacing party propaganda

Oh, I think German scientists had a little too much booze before submitting the research reports...

It's not their fault, they just get over-excited from time to time

So we shouldn't use the old one, you think?

OK no problems.

Last time the newspapers only really got going after the tide had turned. I feel this time there should be more excessively gloating axis articles and defiant allied ones while the axis are having the successes.

You won't be held to it, since we all know the game dictates a turning of the tide at some point - it's just for fun and atmosphere
