Voters think the House of Lords is outdated, out of touch and wrong to thwart Brexit, poll reveals
  • Poll shows 76 per cent of voters say peers are out of tune with the general public
  • The House of Lords has angered Britons with recent defeats on the Brexit bill
  • Peers have defied conventions over voting in line with a Government manifesto
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...rt-Brexit.html

I know this is the DM bog roll but this is just about a poll.

I have been saying for over 30 years to scrap the HoL's and massive reform of the HoC's and still nothing. This poll means nothing even if it was 99% public or 100%. Parliament thinks they know best and we the little people should shut up and go away.

It is all a game, when you grow up like this.

To spare some promised money for the NHS, he may screw some wings on this red bus and take a fly towards Europe, from the Dover cliffs.

Labour is in the "worst of both worlds" on Brexit and will suffer at the ballot box, according to Tony Blair.

The former Labour prime minister said the party's position was not appealing to either Leave or Remain voters.

He claimed people now have a "greater understanding" of Brexit and that supporting another EU referendum would win over both sides.

Do people still listen to this has been?

There is absolutely no party I can vote for here in the UK and still look at my self in the mirror the next morning. I'm done.

Taxes are going to have to rise to pay for the NHS if the UK is to avoid "a decade of misery" in which the old, sick and vulnerable are let down, say experts.

The Institute for Fiscal Studies and Health Foundation said the NHS would need an extra 4% a year - or £2,000 per UK household - for the next 15 years.

It said the only realistic way this could be paid for was by tax rises.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-44230033Someone is telling a pack of lies, who?

PMQ's PM May hit back at Jezzer about years of Labour scaremongering about the Tories whom PM May said have put money into the NHS.

I know who is to blame, its the whole stinking lot at Westminster using the NHS as a political point scoring ball.

I was disgusted at my candidates in the local elections this year, not a single leaflet or visit to the door and they think I should vote for them! Clear off, you lot can not be bothered with me putting your case forward then nuts to them and I stayed in and not voted.

@Steed, I would really like to vote for some one, Its not that I don't care - but there is no one that I find remotely credible or believable. I live in a Conservative strong hold anyway so it would make no real difference given the way the system works.

Oh I agree, I try to vote but as pointed out in my last post the Con/Lab/Lib and Greens failed so they can go and spin. I'm a swing voter with no loyalty to any political party making me more important to them to get my vote. And just to add same here blue all the way from top to bottom where I live.

Nah, you're simply scared taxes will rise and you'll have to start paying some

The NHS is completely unsustainable in its current form.
What gets on my nerves is in the UK when people throw around the phrase 'free health care'
There is no such thing, some one has to pay for it, Individuals, Insurance companies, taxpayers or government borrowing (tomorrows taxpayers). Its never free.
'Affordable health care' is a better term

*Playing devils advocate* Taking into consideration there are a great many out there with extremely low incomes, means tested may be an option to consider but then the dilemna is what criteria and outcome levels would be applied.

I think the only fair way is as it was intended....free for all.

I've not really looked in to all the ins and outs, but its costing what? 124 billion a year now? thats about about a quarter of the governments annual budget isn't it? - yet its still under funded.
Maybe its badly managed and it doesn't help the uk population has doubled since 1980, (bearing in mind most are taking out more than they individually put in)
and we have an aging population on top of that.
I don't want the NHS to go as much as the next guy, but something will have to give sooner or later.

Scotland 'would keep pound' in years after independence

Under those circumstances Scotland would have to accept monetary policy and interest rates set by the Bank of England without any concern for the economic circumstances in Scotland
