Silent Hunter III

Help, Having just got a new laptop with windows 8.1 I would like to install SH III with GWX on it, any ideas on how I can do this. I have got SH III from Steam installed but cannot update with GWX,

Sorry like you SH3 stock OK but GWX crash crash crash. I have uninstalled it and sold my SH3, Like you I got Win8.1 and followed the advice not to put it in the programs file and sit it outside that.
