The discovery of U-215

http://www.cbc.ca/story/canada/natio...at_040713.html

I just watched the 'Seahunters' episode (2004) about this VIID, U-215. Anyone else ever catch it?

I wondered though. When the anchor eventually hooks up with the wreck, the divers catch her with the anchor exactly stuck in or near the mining tubes... I suppose you have to connect a buoy somehow, but is that normal procedure?

And also, the mines were still there, they could see them in the tubes. Could they have gone off given this 'lucky' anchor? :hmm:

The wreck was fairly intact and closed up. The team also searches for a Liberty Cargo, SS Alexander Macomb, U-215 supposedly attacked near the Canadian/US coast.

they'd better leave it as is and where it is... damn people these days digging up ships and moving them... warships are supposed to be the sailors graves... you cant mess with that stuff.

Ive sunk more destroyers than I have merchants...youll wish you never sailed into U-87s hunting grounds. When you pull into port, dont lull yourself into a false sense of security, your mines and subnets are just a petty challenge for my crew and I.

I guess that's about what ancient Egypts would think, too.

Guys I am going to move this to the General Topics Forum, not as related to the game, more about history.

Edit: one of the other Mods will move it here: Sub & Naval Books, Films, and Models.
