Widescreen Problems

After a few years of being away from the game I got the itch to start playing again. Am having some problems getting the ws mods to work. I've had it working in the past so there's something I'm missing or otherwise need a different mod maybe?

Using the JGSME I've removed all mods so its a bare GWX 3 install. Under normal play the game runs fine (granted the normal distorted images from using a 1920x1080 monitor) until I try and install the widescreen mod.

ONLY activated mods I have are:
MaGui 3.4
widescreen_GWX3.0
Widescreen MaGui 3.4

Am using a laptop so have to adjust the resolution to 1366 instead of 1360.

The game loads up to the point where it says 'not so long ago' and a little window with this message pops up and I have to use the task manager to kill the game:

Menu ID not found:0x2615a002

I've played this game for years and never had such problems getting the ws to work, any clues or pointers on what I might be doing wrong?

Sound like a GWX/MacGUI conflict..

0x26... is Attack Scope related.. there might be a few items missing in the menu_1024_768 file OR in the Dials.cfg file.

Try running only one widescreen mod at a time.. see if it makes a difference.

The error message you got usually is caused by a reference in the file Dials.cfg to an ItemID which does not exist in menu_1024_768.ini.

MaGui 3.4 includes a version of Dials.cfg. widescreen_GWX3.0 contains a different version of Dials.cfg, which, when you activate it after MaGui 3.4, overwrites the MaGui 3.4 version. Widescreen MaGui v3.4(Add-on MaGui 3.4) does not contain a version of Dials.cfg. It is expecting the Dials.cfg from MaGui 3.4 to be present, and its version of menu_1024_768.ini is compatible with that version of Dials.cfg. But, when you activated widescreen_GWX3.0, you eliminated that version from the game files and replaced it with the widescreen_GWX3.0 version. So you got a conflict.

I suggest you use one widescreen mod or the other, but not both. The two mods are trying to do the same thing in different ways, at the same time. It is generally a good idea to not activate two mods that do the same thing. That's an invitation to mod conflicts.

Good luck and good hunting.

Thanks, I was under the impression I had to install the special widescreen module, then MaiGui over it; obviously I was wrong. Got it working now, thanks
