Which beats my 105 by a long margin and I can still go 110mph if I want to. No idea why anyone in a country with a speed limit would need more than 150 hp.
(Apart from the "my is bigger than yours" aspect)

True that and with the onset of technology performance-wise less and less horses are needed to achieve high speeds....it just takes longer to get there (top speed)

My car has a whopping 170... It will go fast, that's for sure...but it won't beat a Mustang. (I tried once)

Focus SVT

There were about 15,000 of these ever made and I got one of 717 2003 5-Door hatchbacks with red trim.

I love it...but I also know my place. I compete with a Honda Civic, any Kia, etc.

Back when I had my old Escort wagon (it died to an accident in July 2005) I used to boast that it would go from 0 to 60 in less than a week. The actual number was about 12 seconds. It topped out at 105, downhill, but given the standard speedometer discrepancy that was probably closer to 95. It had a whopping 88 horsepower. On the other hand I got a consistent 32 miles to the gallon in town and 44 on the road. I miss that car.

I love Ford Escorts! People tell me I'm crazy, (It's apparently bad enough that I chose a hatchback over a big, lifted Diesel) but those things are awesome. For me, not so much the wagon...but I know you have band stuff to transport so I can understand that.

I just really wish that you could get Mk1 Escorts in the US. Easily up among my favorite classic cars. I want to at least drive one in my lifetime.

I get about 30-35 MPG...I can't complain...but I do have to put Premium fuel in it.

I have owned Civics that would utterly slay your car. They both pushed 230hp NA one was a 90 Civic SI the other was an 89 Civic CRX both had modified B16 engines no turbo charging no nitrous oxide. My style is "clean sleeper".

Same for my 270Z she has a stroked over engine but appears quite standard besides not having original size wheels or tires. I've embarrassed quite a few people though driving on a twisty road is more to my taste.

It's not that, really. I have a huge dislike for sedans, and I like little sport wagons.

I'm not sure if we're talking about the same Escorts. Mine was mid-90s, and still the body style I like the most.

I also believe that dropping it for the Focus was the worst styling move they ever made. To me the Ford Focus is one of the ugliest cars ever. Period.

I miss that car too.

The one in the pictures wasn't mine though. But it had the same ugly color and still managed to look good with it. I want it back!

In the 1990ies i had a 1977 Fiat 128 3P 'Berlinetta' Coupé, with 73 PS (or hp)

But: Despite its size and 1100 ccm engine it had a top speed of 190 km/h at 8500 revs, in fourth gear (modified Abarth engine with compressor), no overdrive or 5th gear then. And you were not allowed to think of theoretical piston speeds, while pressing those 8500 revs per minute..
This was a terrific street machine, and especially on narrow roads no BMW or Porsche came close. I finally gave it away to a museum in Bavaria.
