At this point in time he certainly has no desire to go back to sea and believes the Pilots position should commence beginning of March at the latest.

Tell James Happy Birthday for us for I follow him as if he were my own son
and I pray he has made the right wise decision to be closer to his family.

Pliny the Elder beer for you and Pliny the Younger beer for the 31 yearold raider ?! all brewed my still prospective son-in-law, also 31. I wear a lot of 'Pliny beer shirts these days. Yours being a seafaring family, you can only appreciate Adm. Pliny. Although not considered his most important work, Pliny, noted naturalist as well, and his contemporaries created the botanical name for hops, hence the naming for the beer. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pliny_the_Elder and if you can't get commercially in Newcastle: https://www.homebrewfinds.com/2013/07/brewing-more-beers-pliny-elder-kit.html

AS THE OWNER OF TWO SUBARU FORRESTERS, A LITTLE HUMOR FROM YET ANOTHER CORPORATE SCREW UP IN TODAY'S FOX NEWS: https://www.foxnews.com/auto/subaru-dealers-f-up
Quote:
The automaker was caught off guard last week when word of an SUV on display at the Singapore Motorshow called the Forester Ultimate Customized Kit Special edition, which can be converted into a vulgar acronym, went viral....
“We apologize for any negative feedback this may have caused. SBR has had the name removed from the car at the Singapore Auto Show. We work very hard to build a strong brand image for this company and the naming of this vehicle in no way reflects the values and standards we hold true. Furthermore, we will always do our best to protect our brand’s integrity,” the letter said.
“It goes without saying that this car will not be available in the United States market,” the letter noted.
BOEING ONLY WISHES IT HAD PROBLEMS LIKE THIS!

Lately, I've been nitrating coffee filters and casting old Richmond Lab .54 cal bullets I picked up from Eras Gone bullet molds.

ya that looks kinda weird, perhaps I should explain.

I have a .54 caliber black powder carbine and make the bullet cartridges out of paper. I first soak the paper in a solution of potassium nitrate (spectracide stump remover works great). Then let dry before I form the cartridge for bullet I cast. The entire process is somewhat time consuming but very relaxing.

The quick and dirty way is to seat a bullet in the rifle by hand and dump 80 grains of powder straight in the chamber.

They look similar to these except the bullet I cast is pure lead and based off the Confederate Richmond Laboratories .54 conical bullet.

You want to put the fear of god into an intruder point a double barreled 20 gauge HOWDAH at'em. Carry two, they're small enough!

that looks like my Shiloh 45-70 Sharps carbine; I still reload the brass for...along wiith my original trapdoor 1876 Springfield (infantry)I use a .54 minie mold for a Gallagher carbine cap-and-ball which I have the peculiar brass shells for to allow the cap's ignition. I used it as a cavalry weapon for civil war re-enacting. I presume you use German caps to reduce pesky misfires!

Can't afford an original, all my black powders are by Pedersoli/Uberti. I have their Confederate Sharps (Robinson) carbine using RWS musket caps with no problems. I watched a fella on youtube add a little extra powder to those caps then used hair spray to 'glue' the powder in. Just one .20 gauge HOWDAH I keep half cocked in the house. Recently I've been thinking about getting a .45-70 government Sharps. For those days I dont want to expend all my hard work making those paper cartridges.
Years ago after watching Pale Rider and Clint exchanging cylinders I went out and got Remington new model Army .44. Though I think what he has is a .36 cal
