Default Do y'all visit the Subsim music thread?

I do ... I don't listen to every tune, but I like the oldies, but goodies mostly and the different personalities of the members that do post there is really worth it.

So I thought I would start a poll to see if you do or if your don't ...

Come on over and feel free to share your mood today

I used to be a regular there, but I have so much music in my personal collection that there's nothing new for me there. I mostly listen to Medieval/Renaissance/Baroque/Classical music these days.

That's why I tried to open a classical channel of music.
The "bad" Jim has prevented this and brought both issues together, although music and the taste of it can sometimes be very different.
I call for a Classic Canal and I'm not alone!

I just imagined how Mozart would have rocked the house with an E-Bass guitar.

I occasionally throw some classical stuff in there. Don't know why others should not do the same.

To be fair the original title of the SubSim Music Thread was "What's Hot On Your Decks Right Now?", meaning "What are you listening to?" That covers every genre of every period, and I don't think a thread dedicated to one type of music is necessary.

Voted Yes. I do listen to what you post, Eichhörnchen. I have a penchant and love of classical music like you, Bleiente and others here. It's all good music and you might be surprised others listen to what you post as well.

I also look to see what Jim posts as he is a regular there and posts a great deal of music. While I have seen people post music here, people often remind me of music I have in my collection that I haven't listened to in a long while. Billy Joel's " scenes from an Italian restaurant " posted by Jim is a good example and brought back a lot of good memories. After Jim's post, I pulled out my " Billy Joel, greatest hits " double CD box set and listened all the way through-twice.

Bleiente, eisenwurst, Jim, Catfish, our resident musical guru, Vienna, Barracuda UAK, Fumo 30, Rockstar, Moonlight, Propbeanie, U-Crank , Mr. Quatro and others have carried the load with regards to posting music here. Others here are musicians like Steve and Marcel, playing bass and lead guitar, respectively. I'm sure others here are musicians in various capacities as well.

I had a conversation with eisenwurst where I said I pulled back posting music because I was more interested in what others, like our members, were listening to. After eisenwurst's prompting however, I will be posting more musical selections here. That being said, everyone here who posts has posted some great music.

Keep it up.

I usually check out the thread every day. I try to post regularly but I'm lazy. I'll try to do better.

I very much doubt you have experienced the 'bad' side of me but Neal and Steve have

General Topics are under continuous review as much as time permits and one of the aims of said review is to keep them as tidy as possible via what I like to call 'good housekeeping' and an integral part of that is preventing multiple threads of a very similar topic/nature. Examples that spring to mind would be Politics and Terrorism.

IMO Music fits easily into that type of housekeeping but I'll readily admit there still remain some threads that have slipped through the net and a sudden influx of what can easily be termed as 'spamming' would probably bring about a swift harvest of said threads.

Moderation is often a 'damned if you do' and 'damned if you don't' position but the team do their best and perform in as softly a manner as possible as per Neals wishes.

A quick perusal of the boards in this community clearly shows these methods are working and long may it continue.
