I have created my maps to aid in navigation and for depth. The online program I am using to generate the base maps has the information in English. I have looked online for months to try to locate German resources or original German database but can't find anything of central or workable value. I am not going to be translating the information into German but you are free to do so if you wish, I have no restrictions on their use. The end product is a result of these base maps plus my own research using google earth, and then some filters applied via pixlr. They also include custom decals from various materials online. I would love to see the most detailed images you can create. I have to make patchwork maps because the information is only drawn on the screen a little section at a time and then I need to copy and paste them together. It takes me about 3 hours per map to get just the data, then fix names/coordinates/add decals/ and finally formatting. That is enough work for me for a simple navigation map. I also do not plan to color these as I think most maps/charts were not in color. The original intent was black and white charts but they don't have enough flavor for me so I tint them up nice. P.S. Tried your link in 3 different browsers but it keeps saying retry. So its not working right. Might want to fix that. |

Im going to try and handle this tactfully. This thread is a listing however of the maps I'm making. I would ask you please refrain from asking simmers to check out your site here in this thread.
You have a business and I'm happy for you. I am a capitalist too. To claim that you are you are not engaged in the business of selling these maps when all of your maps have your logo watermarked on them and therefore are obviously property, i.e. products and that you are actively selling on ebay which is linked from your site and using my thread to market your site is what I would call a violation of good faith since. I have not been asked and have not agreed to sponsor or support your efforts and I'd appreciate it if you stop doing that. Some might conclude that we are working together in the effort to steer you business and it appears to me that you are using this thread to try and sell your password protected "products" and steer people to your website and in turn your map auctions. If your intent is to make money that is fine. Please don't misrepresent your intent. If I have it wrong please forgive me and I will yield to your explanation in your thread. Meanwhile I will continue to add my works here and there will never be any charges for them. That is all. Last edited by Jaystew; 05-07-14 at 09:45 PM. |

A different reason
Quote:
You wrong. I'm not a business man. I'm a private collector of ww2 kriegsmarine nautical charts, catalogues & atlases. I haven't a philantropist and I can't buy all the item I want, I hope you understand. So, sometimes, I sell a doublet on my collection to make money to buy other most interesting items. Currently I have more than 250 maps and 150 books on my collection and I have on my ebay ONLY 3 maps and 1 book on sell. I think this isn't a good business! About the logo watermarked on the scans, it is because in the past I found them on a commercial product. But, this is the real fact: all my scans are free for personal use. I would you'll continue your works and I hope my resource may help you and all the people work for the community. I am so certain of this rule, I updated on mediafire a new map "without logos", a present for all subsim followers, free for personal use. It is the D.Adm. 66, Der Kanal (British Channel), 1943. I work on it all the day because it is a twin map, composed by 2 nautical chart. I've extract, cut, past and elaborate the image and I make a single image covering all the south Great Britain (north France). It is an high quality scan, a 62 Mb jpg file, 12380x6250 pixel!!! I think it's enough to see details. Here the link for the download: http://www.mediafire.com/view/vat3le...W+O.Blatt).jpg and here the preview: www.kartengruppe.it Now I can say: THAT IS ALL. |

My apologies. Your link does not load for me. I was able to see the direct link image though. That image is great. Can you make more of the high res ones like that. I know it is time consuming and difficult but it has real historical value. It also aids in navigation too.
Thanks Last edited by Jaystew; 05-09-14 at 12:09 AM. |

I can only see the image though direct download. It is pretty specacular in high res. The browsers simply cant handle 10000pixels. Im using Chrome and Firefox and Maxathon and none of them can do it.
Anyway. No4 Bay of Biscay is up Thanks all http://i.imgur.com/QdwEHVJ.jpg |

Working on No 6 this will be a doozy. Does anybody have any specific areas they'd like me to map while I'm doing this? I'm beginning to run out of patrol areas that require navigation and depth charting. Well not really running out of ideas, I guess I'm running out of places I want to go and have maps for.
So now is the time I'm looking for requests. Thanks. |

He nall. Sorry to revive this topic but all imgur links are sadly dead. Just so you know. Hope they can be revived if your images still exist on your drive.
