Default ATI users..can you help me?

Just upgraded from Nvidia to ATI and now, on views from the bridge, I have some 'stuttering' when I pan the view round using the mouse. I have tried to reinstall and still the same.
Can someone let me know what settings they use in the CCC and if anyone else suffered or suffers from this?

Hope you can help me get back out into the Atlantic

Hi

ATI does not seem to run SH5 very well, my ATI 2600 pro on a 3ghz Vista system, the game stuttered and spluttered its way through, only just, and that was with all the visual settings at minimum. I picked up a 3ghz XP system very cheaply and fitted a Nvidia 9600 GT and it runs really well and for the first time with all visuals maxed out, I have a game at last..

The ATI combined with Vista does not seem like SH5, hope this helps.

Yes sir, I can help you. (maybe) I too was having horrible FPS problems. I have a QUAD Core 6600 overclocked to 3 ghz. I have 4 gb's of quality ram. I have one of the fastest Hard Drives known to man. I have an ATI Radeon 4870 card. (not the latest or greatest anymore but still one hell of a video card.

My point? My computer (I built it myself) shouldn't be slow at ANYTHING. It should be blazing fast and it always is. Except for SH5. I posted this thread here : http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=180090

And I got my answer. Someone said to turn the shadows down or something and I did and my problem was fixed. Hope this helps.

Xp 32, 2 gigs of Ram, 3 ghz pentium Dual Core, and an ATI 5770.

Like was said... drop the Shadows to medium..... or use one of the "Shadow Mods".
And you might try using a fps limiter, as it has helped me a bit to lock them @ 35.
I get smooth game play, and have ZERO complaints.
All High Settings except Shadows, It can be Done !

Good Luck with it Friend..........

First off, thanks for all the answers..that program that Sober supplied did the trick.

I switched from Nvidia to ATI due to issues with the 400/500 series and most motherboard manufacturers... the thread now shows as a 506 internal error but it was 56 pages and still growing

But with that little program installed, stuttering is gone and FPS stays at 60.
