I hit a convoy and I had holes in 4 ships. Awesome

Are you still working on more?
Thanks AVGWarhawk always

I can do it to this size (red circle)

But when I think about the balance that is total Torpedo and deck gun.

I am convinced final version is best.

Thanks all

I'm waiting to see how Vikinger is getting along with modding the values
that control the damage images themselves.
I must also mention it is possible to assign different damage images
to each ship.

This mod is a "must have" IMO, I love it, great work man and thanks for sharing it with all of us. I always wondered why there was no torp dmg in the stock version, it used to piss me off, I would fire a couple torps at a ship and you would hear a big BOOM! and all the dramatic explosions and lifeboats flying through the air like rag dolls and all that jazz, then go to free cam to inspect the ship and it looked like nothing had happened to it. This mod really made my day, thanks again.

Really.... Did not know this.
Please, can you tell me how I can do that, and how can I assign a torpedo damage texture to a ship ?
This is going to be ********** amazing.

Hy Kaleuns

To me these Holes are amasing. But how do they look if you use magnetic pistols, and the Torp hit under the schip????????:hmm:

Greetings

A large hole underneath!.......as long as you have set the correct depth

Give it a try!!

Prost/Cheers!

PS

Maybe someone will be kind enough to put up a screen-shot for you. Unfortunately I don't know how to do that

Hey, I just had an idea.... If it's possible to assign a torpedo damage texture to every ship, is it possible to assign a torpedo damage texture to all ships when the torpedo hits them under the hull ? That would be possible to make a special texture where we see the broken back of the ship.

edit : Just let me know if it's possible, and in case it is I'll try to do it.

Actually Alex that sort of happens already.

If you get a good contact ( bit of a contradiction there!) with the magnetic and the damage model decides that the ship's back is broken, then the ship breaks in two with a whacking great ^ chunk out of the bottom.

Nothing really left of the hull to attach a graphic to...unless you are thinking of texturing both halves!

Besides, once it reaches the 'back broken' stage, it doesn't stay around long enough for you to admire the view!

@ Cheapskate : hmm.... no, I just think I can model a torpedo damage picture where you can see the broken.... don't know the english word, just see this picture :

Do you see what I mean ? In french it's called "étrave", this is the main structure of a boat. And I'm thinking of modeling this broken thing.

No doubt a front runner for the mod of the year.

Some say it is to big but I think not. Today I saw a picture of the Cole that was hit by a bomb brought in by terroists on a rubber boat. It created a very large hole in this vessel. I think OC's mod is dead on for the correct size.

Keep going OC. This little mod is fantastic. I can not say it enough.

@ Alex

Yep, I see what you mean

I think it is called the " stempost "..... the one at the other end is the " sternpost"

With OB's mod, if we get a hit on the tip of the bow or stern ( these aren't critical hits) we just seem to get a blackened view of the original outline. Not that I'm complaining much BTW!!

Anything more realistic, even a transparent missing section....would probably be better...if that's at all possible.

Well ,mate, have a try....see what you can come up with!

Bonne chance!
