Default [REL] GWX-No ContactTails plus Colored WarShips!

UPDATED april 7, 2007:
I fixed a yet small nuance of color presence on tails.
================================================== ================
GWX-No ContactTails plus Colored WarShips hydrophone contacts.
GWX-Tails grey plus Colored Warships hydrophone contacts.

http://rapidshare.com/files/24948758..._tails.7z.html
(it´s in truth only the Contline.tga file in JSGME format)
You can install middle patrol!
================================================== ====
The version without tail can be used with any mod even the old Assited Plotting mod.
The new, that hold the tails, can be used with any mod that use grey contacts.
The new version with tails also fix the broken hydrophones lines!
See the last pic from this new option (tails in grey and WS hydrop. contact colored)
Enjoy!

Original first post:
Here i´m again with one more mod made for my own game that probably could be useful for someone more.

This is an old idea alreaady implemented since the Assisted Plotting Mod from almost 2 years ago...but with some fundamental differences...

The old Assisted Plotting Mod makes a complete redone on the way Sh3 display contacts on the NAv map. For some, like me, it´s a bit to much hardcore. I like a little more info on map but not so much as in the stock /GWX ones.

The main problem for me is that tails that always are so precise and you never needs to really find a radio contact from hundreds of km away: is just a matter to draw a line following that annoying tails..

Another problem is that GWX (and others mods) have all lines grey. Even the strategic escort war ships contacts (on hydrophone) in a middle of the convoy.

The grey contacts are great, I like them...but that escort ships...even in RL they marked them with some special code on the papers during convoys attacks. It´s useful and necessary.

But the problem is that SH3 uses the same Contline.tga for all this: the tails and the contact lines on hydrophones. So what you make to adjust one could mess with the other.

But now I don´t have more the tails and the warships are in red on my hydrophones! And all others lines and icons coninues grey!!

Miracle? No...after read all the threads on the matter and some hours in a deep observation on how all this works...bingo! the solution arrived!
First of all all the mods that mess with the Contline and tails ends with a no more continue line on the hydrophone contacts. This is a direct side effect when you delete the tails...so no dice here. But the line is far better than the one in RUB/AssistedPlotting mod. Another small side effect is that your sub also don´t have directional tails on the map any more. If you can live with these two....

Take a look on the pictures and judge it by yourself.
The major addition is to have a more challenge game and a better track of the escort ships on the hydrophones! A huge addition on my opinion. The small side effects are quickly absorved and you will not noticed them after the first patrol with this mod.

Good Hunting!
Rubini.

(Credits to original Assisted Plotting mod author, ChurchSubSim and Poor Sailor for they work also on this matter, Kpt. Lehmann for the grey contacts)

New version with grey tails, colored WS hydrophone contact and with fixed hydrophones broken lines:
