My Environment Mod - Wondering if Kaleuns might like?
Magic1111 has expressed an interest in my home-brewed environment mod that I use for my modded stock game (I don't use GWX). It is a 16k environment that I started from scratch, well over a year ago, and is very far from complete. I haven't worked seriously on it for a number of months now, however, I am curious to see if others might also be interested in it. If there are enough people who are, I may just try to complete it when I am finished with the "Town Class" mod that I am committed to at present.
So here are a few screenshots to show you. You might see that I have learned a couple of tricks to improve the lighting, shading, and horizon a bit. If you Kaleuns like it and think it might be a worthwhile effort, please don't expect it anytime soon, I only get about two, maybe three, hours a day at most to do any modding or graphics work...and I also have a bad habit of testing, testing, and testing again. Cheers Kafka BC

Very, very nice pictures and (until now) great work! And please share with us, the community, your wonderful work when it´s finished (maybe in "near" future...)! But let your time! It´s ready, when it´s done..! Best regards, Magic |

As above. Any addition is good as it offers more choices.

The consensus is I should try and finish this...I will see what I can do after a couple of months.
I have only got the Atlantic about 80% done, haven't touched the Med or Arctic yet. The Med should be just a simple variation of what I have done, the Arctic might be a different matter. And I am still having trouble getting 15m/s wind/waves right to my satisfaction as well as a few other quibbles.

very nice
Hi Kafka,
i like your work very much and would be happy too, if you find time to finish it. I did some tests to make a northern light for the Arctic some years ago. If you like use or see it, i can re-up it for you. Best regards, Leutnant_Werner |

Only in single missions the Artic and Med are used. But who is playing single missions? And the first version of my mod I created Artic and Med version so the user can switch be enabeling the environming but I do not expect many people will actually switch. |

Just got it from Magic's link, I will check it out. Northern lights were something I was thinking about, thank you.

I like the colour combinations a lot, as I prefer "dark blue" seas. But if you are going to undertake this endeavour, you might as well try to do it in 20km environment, as smoke plumes can be seen that far
