A group of major European companies has warned the Prime Minister they may cut investment without more clarity over the terms of Britain's EU exit.
Business leaders, including from BP, BMW, Nestle, and Vodafone, told Theresa May that "time is running out".
In a statement after the Downing Street meeting, they said that a trade deal with the EU must be "frictionless as with a customs union".

We are well into the game of 'chicken' now but the EU are supposedly desparate for our £40 million and our position is clear (as far as I'm aware)....no deal, no money.

The UK must not allow President Trump to "bully" his trading partners, the shadow international trade secretary has said, amid fears of a looming trade war over US tariffs on metals imports.

Labour's Barry Gardiner said the move to impose levies on aluminium and steel from Europe was "based on a lie".
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-44326627

Well then the Labour party should get on with Trump with all their lies.

#7924 should have read 'billion' and not 'million'

Lord Lawson has been accused of hypocrisy by anti-Brexit campaigners after it emerged he is applying for a French residency card.

The Conservative peer, who chaired the Vote Leave campaign, said he had started the "tiresome" paperwork to prove he is legally resident in France.

Had to re-read this to be sure I wasn't involved in any misunderstanding

The UK must submit written proposals on how it plans to keep a frictionless Irish border after Brexit in the next two weeks, Ireland's foreign minister has said.

Simon Coveney said if that does not happen the UK will face an uncertain summer of talks.

Both the UK and EU say they are committed to keeping the Irish border open after Brexit.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-44342590

Not sure how this one will pan out but whatever is eventually decided it will have to be most innovative.

Key parts of the UK's immigration policy - including on foreign students and doctors coming to the UK - are be reviewed, the home secretary has said.

Sajid Javid told the BBC there was a "perception problem" over the decision to include students in net migration figures.

And he said he would "think more carefully" about the cap on the number of skilled workers given visas.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-44346900

I'm all for that and would like to see a points system as used by some other countries put into operation.

If you have a skill that is in demand then you've more chance of gaining entry.

The EU Withdrawal Bill will return to the House of Commons for a series of crunch votes on 12 June, it has been announced.

The legislation suffered 15 defeats in the House of Lords, which will now be debated by MPs.

Numbers are tight with the Tories needing the support of the Democratic Unionist Party for a majority.

Conservative MPs have been told to be on site "at all times" during the day of the votes.

I'm not yet convinced the PM will get the support she so desparately needs

Heathrow Airport: Cabinet approves new runway plan.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-44357580

About time too....it'll still not be operational until approximately 2026 though.

Too late and out of date, when it goes on line they will find its too late. Better start campaigning for yet another one now.
