Salute! Garbi,
I could be wrong but as far as I know, there is no such mod. you have to use enigma separatly. There is a mission called "Secret missin" which send you coded messages but you have to get out of SH3 to use enigma!

Good Hunt

Borgneface is right.

The enigma found in Silent Hunter 3's radio room is completely useless in all versions of the game. There is no mod currently in existence to make it work or to add a working enigma to the user interface.

The only way to use an enigma in SH3 is to use an enigma emulator alongside SH3 unrelated to one another. But i cant see much reason to do this given the current state of the game.

good hunting

Doesn't the DEF (or one of the other campaign groups) use Enigma to communicate with boats on patrol? And there is also a set of Single Missions with canned messages in Engima. http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...do=file&id=400

All of these, of course, use the external Enigma Simulator. http://users.telenet.be/d.rijmenants/en/enigmasim.htm The Simulator works well, but I have never used it "operationally" in-game.

Actually, I have a working 'poor man's engima' in SH3. It allows me to decrypt encoded messages, but the encryption is very simple (just letter replacements). It works fine, but I have never released it because the graphical quality is not very high

If someone is interested I can provide more information about my version.

@ LGN1

could you put a link to download this mod to take a look?

Greetings and thank you too for making the SH3 a wonderful universe to discover.

You have caught my curiosity. What is your source for encrypted messages? And how does the graphics quaality figure in?

Hi,

I will prepare a small mod as 'proof-of-principle'. Maybe some of the more talented GUI modders can turn it into a nice mod... However, it may take a few days.

I believe it's for SH5 not SH3.
