Default [REL]3000 Meter Bearing Plotter Tool for Operation Monsun

3000 Meter Bearing Plotter Tool for OM U-Boats (only for 1920xY resolution)
...just in case, OM stands for Operation Monsun
...

  • I have only adapted 1920xY res version for OM.
  • This is JSGME ready(TM).

A WARNING!

Don't let the tiny archived file size (XX KB) fool you! This mini mod is SYSTEM RESOURCE INTENSIVE. This mini mod includes a shp.dds file for each U-boat. For example, stock OM shp.dds file for Type IIB is 5 MB and this one 43 MB.

Now you may say "Don't worry, I have 38 MB extra memory on my gaming rig!", please be advised that this file is (probably) expanded in memory and the 'small' difference of 38 is multiplied several times.

As a quick test case I just launched submarine school to test with 'torpedo course'.
  • Case 1 (Standard OM+OMEGU) sh4.exe memory consumption = 1.860.352
  • Case 2 (OM+OMEGU modified with this mod) sh4.exe memory consumption = 1.010.456
As displayed above, impact is much more than 38 MB file size difference...

HISTORY OF THE MOD
The main mod was made long ago by many modders named in CREDITS and later adapted to Silent Hunter 4 by CapnScurvy. For more information on what it is, see the link below to the main thread for this great tool.

CREDITS

ancient credits (initial idea/work)
=============
Credit for the initial Bearing Plotter goes to Pato back in the SHIII days. CaptainCox, 13th4l, NoWonderDog, and Rockin Robbins have all had contributing work and revisions to the mod. Without their efforts I could not have completed my small part.

update >> [REL] 3000 Yard/Meter Bearing Plotter Tool
This is a rework of previous mods that dealt with an in-game bearing plotter for the Navigation and Attack Map screens. It is compatible for both American and German side of play, at either Metric or Imperial measurements (as long as you choose the correct edition), and at 8 "basic" game resolutions depending on your particular hardware and in-game settings.
