Cool, that would be awesome. Dunno how we'll set the damage level...

I'll try and get a rescaled version image up here soon for ya.

Not sure how many had the splinter protection for the pilot.

I suppose I could try and fix it. Maybe lower the poop a little, lol.

Course the people are over 1.8 m tall, dunno what the average japanese height was back then

Actually, I have pictures with guys standing at the wheel where their heads are OVER the splinter shield. Perhaps that was for normal use, and under fire they'd DUCK, and peer out the window slit. Note that most images show many smaller square holes (6-8 inches square). Another image has + shaped slits all over, and at different heights.

Default scaled blueprints

Here are the barges drawing scaled to their respective sizes.

Note the shadow of the wheelhouse on the second barge (Type A : Army) : the viewing port has vertical slits.

ONI is not accurate in many cases, and sometimes disagrees between versions, least not the drawings. That BSM version looks too big to me. They had a couple 14m versions (14.58m), a 15m type, and a 17m type. The latter was very rare.

ONI below claims the army type is 15m, and the super A is 21m. There was no 21 m type at all.

ONI 41-41I has better images, actually.

The gun shield also needs to be smaller, and curved. The /—\ shape is only a few inches high on the real thing, and the shield is a ) shape.

Nice, didn't see those the first time I saw your post.

That is what my 41-42 I ONI manual shows, much closer to that than what it shows in 208J Supp.

If my 3d skills were not as abysmal as they are... actually though, deleting the planar shield and replacing with a cylinder is actually easy. I might give it a go!

Thos images show how terrible the Battlestations Midway version is.

(the more I look at SH4 ship models, the more terrible I realize most are).

( a lot of work for a craft that shouldn't get seen all that much, LOL. Still... What I need is a low-poly version of your 7.7MG, then I can steal a gun shield from another gun we already have and scale it down). I only want a lower poly version cause with so many about, I worry about FR—and I think your excellent gun has as many triangles as the rest of the barge combined—perhaps many more.

the people on board look better than SH4 IJN sailors though..

agreed..

No, I'm using wings 3d right now. I need to get the hang of something free before I decide if I have the chops for a real program.
