Nice one David...keep that up until I reach retirement age

Quote:
The state pension would continue to rise by at least 2.5% a year until 2020 if the Conservatives win the next election, David Cameron has said.

The PM pledged to keep the "triple lock" system, which ensures the state pension goes up by whichever is higher - inflation, wages or 2.5%.

He said it was "fair" to prioritise pensions even at a time when benefits for younger people were being slashed.

Labour said it supported the triple lock "in principle".

It's all well and good to look after the old farts in their dotage, but what about the younger generations who will not be able to afford retirement? I'm going to 65 in 2056 and I think I'm going to have to work until I drop dead, as my company pension will be vapourised by rising inflation and cost of living.

Not that I'm bitter or anything...

Simple truth is pensioners are more likely to vote, so sweeten them up.

Yes the destruction of the welfare state is now under way and the NHS ties into that as well. I would give less than 12 years now where there will be no welfare state no benefit's, private health care and no state pension.

The rich get richer and everyone else game over!

For flips sake....WAKE UP BRITAIN THE WRITING IS ON THE WALL!

These rich corporate bastards have got agenda.

What happened to all the savings he got from the Plan A cuts?
Oh yeah, they turned a £60bn deficit into a £111bn deficit.
The George is not for turning is he.

What a turn up. I gave up watching the the news on the grounds I found it to be bent to a number of degrees depending on the subject matter just like news papers. Only listen to radio headline news now, 2 minutes is enough for me. Must admit I now have less stress and rage, watching the news and reading newspapers is bad for your health in my view.

I suppose it's just a coincidence that Channel 4 is airing 'Benefit street' on the same day Osborne announces more cuts to welfare benefits.

Sooooo.....£25 billion of cuts and £12 billion of those from benefits yet still a 'reiple lock' guarantee on pensions.

If the cake is shrinking then something or someone will have to lose out to allow the pension guarantee....surely?
