Default Cooler Master continues to make the most expensive cases you can buy!

I currently use a Cooler Master case out here and I thought it was outrageuosly priced at about $250 at the time. Its a Cooler Master Wave Master, though slightly modified with a Dremmel inside so that I could fit my massive Silverstone PSU in this thing!:

But this one takes the cake at $1000!!!!:

I'm sorry, but I think $250 for some bent aluminum is a little excessive! I could really have 10 to 20 good cases for $1000!

I have a Cool Master case. I like it. Not flashy or anything. Why should it be flashy anyway? It sits under the desk. I do not see it much. The one I got was for function

Personally, I've never understood why anyone would pay for a painted/decal case anyway? My box sits on the floor inside the case end of my desk - I can't see it and have no particular desire to anyway (it's just a friggin' computer case, not some kind of room decoration). Half the time, it's open on the side with it's guts exposed to the air, and who wants to have the fan noise up close and personal anyway?

Give me a plain stamped steel case anyday (color don't matter to me either) - cheaper the better, just as long as it's big enough for everything.

Exactly Seafarer. Unless your drunk and passed out on the floor next to my computer, you will not see it. Oh well, some like the flash sitting on their desk.

My exact reasoning for buying mine (except for the blue LED's :p). This Wave Master holds a ton of stuff! I currently have 3 HD's, 1 floppy, 3 optical drives, 1 monitoring system, and if I want to, I can still cram another couple HD's in this thing! Not to mention the length is long to accomidate longer PCI-E cards, and the MB carrier screws out for easy access for MB replacement, and it originally had an oversized carrier bay for an oversized PSU which I further modified to get an even bigger PSU in there! Last but not least, I can close the front cover and hide everything on this system (kind of important considering that monitoring system is pretty bright in a dark room!), and the front cover swings the right way too. Most cases have the front cover open and swing to the left. This one is opposite since i like my case to the right of me, not the left. I think most people have the case on the right and cooler master thought of this. Just little things like that made me swing for the higher cost.

Here is a pic of my monitoring system:

Now here it is in a dark room:

I do not have a monitoring system other then if smoke comes out of the back of it, something is wrong

Don't laugh! I've had that happen! A chip when it goes makes a ton of smoke! :p

That's a cool looking case for sure, but even if I were a millionaire I wouldn't pay $1000 for a box like that. However, I do like a computer that looks cool and different. It sits on my desk and if I have to look at the stupid thing I want it to be pleasing to my eyes.

I have no interest buying a case for more than $15.

The other option, go caseless like my friend did. He just screwed everything to the side of his desk and under his monitor stand.

Nice! I wonder how long that will last with the static buildup? Noise cancelling is not an option I see!

I've got a Cooler Master 830 and I love it. It looks pretty cool, but I didn't buy it because of that. I bought it because it is cave-like in inside space and it's one of the best cases to cool because of how open it is.

Fortunate for me I do not drive a lot of wattage for frying eggs. The Cool Master I purchased has the entire face as a grill to pull cool air through the entire unit. I think I paid $60.00 for it. I would say the case is constructed very well. Plenty of room to jam a lot of stuff in there if I so desire.

This is the one I have:

I know someone with that case. That is a good case and yes, you can cram a ton of stuff in it!

I just use a generic ****ty case, modified a bit to improve cooling. These pictures are a bit old so some of the internals have changed and the fan is no longer held in place with tape.

Well actualy now that i think of it, the only thing that has changed internally is the video card and better cable management.

And the fan on the case side has moved on to the outside because of clearance issues.
