Default Looking to get back into it

Hey guys,

its been quite some time Since Ive stepped in here seriously. I used to run SH3 with some friends a number of years ago but since then we have fallen out of touch and life gets in the way you know how it is,

well I am looking to get back into the game. now I have SH 4 and 5. but I never got into them quite how I did 3.

so last week I went and dug out my old discs and tried installing them on my W10 machine. and of course that went nowhere. long story short I ended up buying the game from the uplay store, made a copy of the files and installed GWX. it worked. but it has been years since what I remember as the "best" way to play.

is there some other mods that bring the game up into the more modern age as far as features, things that put gwx to shame so to speak. has gwx been updated at all? I hadnt seen any evidence of it when I looked.

also is there anything that helps with the newer resolution of monitors?

I currently run a 34" 2560*1080 curved monitor. and the standard resolution of the game just looks horrible.

any thoughts?

and here http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=221815

with one explanation that some of the supermods have new versions!

The biggest resolution I know for SH3 is 1920x1080 -Ahnenerbe WideGui or http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=232178
