Default Stressful month in real life

You all may have noticed my absence, or not. It's been a couple weeks since I've been on the forum. Real life took over and hit me hard. First, my mother went in the hospital and stayed for three weeks. During that time, we found out she had lung cancer. She was sent home and was improving, then a week later, worsened. She went into the hospital again, for breathing trouble. She had fluid in her lung cavity and needed assistance breathing. We were thinking, drain the fluid, and she'll be fine. Her lung didn't re-inflate, and she continued to worsen. We put her in hospice a week later, and she passed away after few days. Her funeral was Friday, February 9. The following Monday, my wife went into the hospital. We're thinking the stress and eating bad was what caused that. She stayed in for a week. She's home and okay now. On top of that, helping clean out my mother's house. I'm finally able to make the time to be able to get back to my Subsim friends.

One thing I did think about sitting in tiny hospital rooms for a month. Just sitting in them, I felt a little claustrophobic. I can't imagine being stuck in a submarine for 6 months at a time.

So sad for you, buddy... thank heavens your wife is okay. I've still got that one to face one day.

Same goes for you and your missus, Reece

I'm so sorry for you. As someone who had to watch his father fading away in a hospital for 8 days I can feel for you.

I'm very sorry fireftr 18, Reece and August for your collective losses. My family's deepest condolences to you all. Hopefully fireftr, you and your wife will be able to work through things and your wife will soon be on the mend. I'm not sure when you lost your father, Schroeder but condolences to you as well.

A friend of ours and his family lost his mom 2 weeks ago. She was in hospice as well and we spent a weekend and 4 weekday nights with the family at the hospice center trying to help and support them through things.

Our friend's mom really was a grand lady and we will all miss her.

This really has been a bad month for many.

Prayers for all of you.

Went through the same with my mother but it was pulmonary fibrosis, she went into the hospital with pneumonia, released too early I think, right back in, this time for over a month, 3 weeks in ICU and doctors said so much lung damage even the next cold could kill her. We had several back and forth nights it was close and she pulled through, but finally didn't. Just a year after that, same with my father basically with COPD, heavy smoker...pneumonia hit and we did hospice with him for about 3 months and he passed. My mom begged me to kill her the night she died hours later, choking on lung fluid, it just crushed me to watch. Obvious there are few words that matter, but thinking of you and although seldom here these days, good to always see you around, miss a lot of my old friends. Ever need to talk, look me up.
