Yes there is, the "Hat Icon" on the right side of the screen brings up the log, just click on the ship sunk entry and it will tell you what you sank and its tonnage. You can sink a ship more than once, I sank the Ark Royal twice last game, once on regulart patrol and once after replenishment.
Thank you Sandbox element of the game seems to be buggy then. Supposedly what you do in the game should have an impact on the outcome of the war. Not much point wasting torpedoes on capital ships if they merely spawn again. It would have taken at least a year to build replacements (more likely adapt an existing ship), plus time for trials and commissioning.

Is the captain's log physically inside the boat? I looked for a clickable book near the captain's bunk and in the radio room. If I can, I'd prefer to sit down with the book and read it, instead of having it magically appear before my face.

Thanks!

Nope, there doesn't appear to be much in-boat interactions other than station transitions (like the hydrophone station or observation scope) or doors/people. No clicking on switches on the attack scope to open doors before launch or anything like that.

Oh well. I will have to content myself with going to my bunk and then clicking on the button. Yeah, that's a little OCD, but the biggest thrill for me is that feeling of "almost" being there and I like to preserve that fragile illusion.

Is there a way to Mod interactive (clickable) things inside the boat???

e.g. captains log, switches and gramerphone etc.

The book icon loreed is referring to is TheDarkWraith's editable Captain's Journal. The icon for it is there, but it's not active quite yet.

Sounds like you've been reassigned to another port. Most likely, you need to go to Wilhelmshaven. Look for the large blue diamond-shape icon with the U-boat silhouette on it.

Good luck!

Anyone know how the heck I "return to course" after changing my plotted course to chase down and sink an enemy ship? Do I really have to replot my entire course?!

If you're talking about using the PrntScrn button on your keyboard, that image is saved to your clipboard. This will hold only one image at a time. To save the image, you need to open a paint program, such as the one that comes with Windows, paste the image into the program, and then save it wherever you like.

I hope this helps.
