Yes, something for everybody, I have been using W_Clears work since his first release. Its very well done plus Kriller2 and W_Clear collaborate, troubleshoot on many issues together. Well done! We appreciate your hard work.

Snaptrap, I would think you, of all people, would understand that just because a mod is a so-called 'smaller' mod does not mean it is not necessary- especially after your rant in your SilentFire mod about not being appreciated. Strange that one who felt like his work went unappreciated and didn't find it a pleasant experience would come here and say something like that.

As for me, I have, and will continue to use EE until Kriller and W_clear get their super environment mod out, simply because I find it a better, more realistic experience.

Keep up the good work, W_clear, and you'll always have my support.

Is that not the bow wave and the wather whiped up by the propeller ??

If it is then should that not be as such due to the florucent stuff in the water?

Sorry about my recent comment. I guess with all the critisism I've received from from my art to my mods, it finally built up to the point where you explode.

No, that is the reflection of the ship. The bow waves are separately visible when a ship is moving at speed, and are quite prominent at night, but that is a particle effect that is not related to reflections.

Is kriller2 in charge of the EE mod now?

I have this issue and have had this issue for a long time, over many driver updates and even over a switch to a new graphics card. The flickering starts the moment many (but maybe not all?) ships sustain any damage. It goes away if you slide the "3D damage" slider all the way to the left. It also goes away once you are a certain distance closer to the ship. It is not related to any mod, although it is possible that the enviroment mods have an effect on its severity/noticeability. I have long wanted to get rid of this side effect, but have never figured out a fix.

I wonder if this is in any way related to the massive performance hit I sometimes get whenever a ship is damaged? It's not consistent, though, which makes troubleshooting a royal PITA; just when I think I've found the culprit, it randomly reappears again. The only way to get my performance up again, for as long as the stricken ship is afloat, is to disable 3D damage. I've not experienced any flickering or anything similar, though :hmm:

I have a 128MB graphics card and have awful framerates with Environmental Effects turned on. This is not to complain or to ask for any help, but just to say that I tried this Environment mod and it makes a major improvement...with EE turned off! Even with very low graphics settings I'm getting a lovely ocean and sky.

Thanks, W_clear!

Steve, when I was using an older card, I got a fps-boost by setting Anisotropic Filtering to 4x (instead of 16x, which I picked for most other games).

Try it! Maybe you can increase other settings this way.
