Thanks BBW... I thought you'd added them. (lighted nav-bouys at the Kiel bridges)

Also Pisces, the same option is available when returning via the Kiel canal... just choose the "Kiel-In" option present in the navigator search pattern options... AFTER you plot a course to the "Kiel Inbound Point" as marked on your F5 navigation map.

Hmm, strange that I didn't notice them before. In my defence, Bernard has been seen holding my binoculars, you see. And not all pillars are identified by lights in that image . Only on the sides of the canal from what I can tell, and not the center ones. I must have thought those lights were stars or something on the horizon. Also I expected those lights to be colored red or something in real life. Anyway, I should look even more carefully next time.

Kapt. Lehman:
I understand there is a big no-no on emitting light during war-time. Which definately would include bridges ofcourse, them being major choke-points. However, I also think they could have devised solutions that would minimise i.e. bombers to notice these lights. Like emiting along really narrow and shallow angles. A blocked canal because some ship collided with something doesn't help the war effort any bit either I think. But I guess the whole solution for me is solved aswel when I tweak my videocards gamma settings a bit. As my crew is able to see ships from kilometers away but I can't. Not even at 400m away, with the moon well past first-quarter. I'm sure I should be able to see more light reflection in those lighting conditions.

bigboywooly:
As for the routeplotting through the canal, I was aware of it and actually did that every time I went through the canal. But I tried to explain in my first post that it doesn't allways work safely. I came to a full stop at the Kanal-In point (unless it is sensitive to a tenth of a knot or so) and course was aligned with the canal entrance as best as i could figure it. But still the navigator plotted a course that went outside the canal further up towards the end. (suggesting to me course was the problem, need to test that) I had to manually adjust the waypoints causing me to be unsure of where the exact opening in the bridges were. Going out of Kiel is easy as you are allready at a complete stop and propper heading at the docks. But inbound is risky business. It's a wonderfull feature anyway. I'm glad you guys could get that to work.

Now, if only my GWX wasn't corrupted yesterday.

Same principle in regards to lighting when marching. We line marched thru the Black Forest [Germany] with no Moon and torches strictly verboten. A torchlight, like a navigation light can be seen for miles.

I don't know if its to late to ask this but will GWX ever feature the Battle of Britian? It does seem possible to do now because of the new aircraft that will be in 1.04, such as the He 111,Bf-109s, Hawker Hurricanes, and the new british heavy bombers.

No sir. To observe that battle... you'd have to camp out in the English Channel... which is incredibly dangerous to U-boats if we've done our job correctly.
Surface engagements... no worries... air battles... not so much. I'm sure you understand.

The website will load a music theme for non-Firefox users, just to satisfy any user curiosities.

Thanks .... sooner or later .... I'll hear it for sure

After having the first look at the document:
Technical comment: can you state the minor version of the document on one of the firste pages? I understood, there are and will be minor corrections.
To distinguish these, we need a mark (at best case by the state version history inside the document).
Or is it included already :hmm:? My first skimming of the content couldn't get anything like this ....

Just use the file name.

It should be GWX_Manual_V2.04.pdf, the next one will be V2.05 and so on.
