Stingray was my boyhood favourite.

THE OUTER LIMITS
Couldn't the modders create a "Seaview" for us for SH3? Maybe while they're at it they could give us a few sea-monsters as well, so we've got something to chase...

What about the Terror Fish?
Seaview for me and the groovy flying sub it had.

At the end of Up Periscope when the crew was exiting the sub, you could tell by the hood over the stairwell that they were egressing from a museum boat.

Stingray FTW
Out of the two choices though I like Seaview for her style and looks and Seaquest DSV for her technology and of course Stephanie Beacham... Yummy . Cheers Gary |

I'm gonna have to go WAY against the grain and choose the SeaQuest. I loved the way it looked, and I really liked the show. I haven't watched the show in years, but one of my favorite episodes was when they came upon a sunken cruise ship. As they were investigating it, they spotted a light on in one of the staterooms. It was their halloween episode, if I remember right.

Well so far the Seaview is winning hands down, my thoughts so far:
I prefer Seaview too (Barbara Eden is a plus) I agree that later in it's run it became "monster of the week" Jules Verne was a genius. and the Nautilus is in a class by itself. Yes I too grew up on "Stingray", "Diver Dan" "Supercar" etc. "Yellow Submarine" just never did it for me. "Down Periscope" good flick, but not fictional sub. It did have Lauren Holly Anyway, Seaquest was OK, but looked like a high tech squid. Like the original StarTrek Enterprise - where the bridge LOOKED LIKE a bridge, In Star Trek The next generation the bridge looks like a cumfy living room. The Seaview was more "Sub Like " |

Just for fun, let's throw in the Skydiver submarine from the British TV series UFO. It had a flying sub of sorts too. Pretty cool looking.
The interior view wasn't bad either. |

Torplexed, it looks to me that the interior view was pretty darn good.

I'm late to this but have to go for SeaQuest. I actually like that it looks like a squid. I do feel they should have another sub which resembles Moby Dick for balance though. Maybe when people dump the fascination for Mars and return to exploring our closer unknown oceanic frontiers?
Of course nothing compares with the Jules Verne Nautilus and it's Disney representation. |
