Default Another WOS question.

Hi,

So i'm playing the range finder tutorial and i am directed in attack periscope view to click on the portrait of my XO. However, he is not there at the bottom with the other officers.

Is he in the jon?

Thanks.

Hi Tom

Click on the button at the top and left and it will open up a range of icons.

You will see his icon there.

Hi Peter, thanks for the response, i didn't get around to looking until today and all i can see in the top left is the Torp options. This is in the periscope view. I am running Wolves of Steel, which may alter the UI though.

On the upper RIGHT corner, there is a row of icons. On the very left of that row is a small round... button? dial? Click that and the row will extend out to the left a bit more. Your XO portrait is one of those. Click him so that he has a yellow background.

Hope that helps!

So that worked, but unfortunately i'm stuck a couple of steps from there. I have a lock on the cargo ship in the tutorial, i have turned on the tdc and switched to manual. But now i need to use the stadimeter, trouble is it says i can't use it until i identify the ship. So question is, how do i identify the ship?

Hi Tom

Lock the target with the space bar.

Use the target identify icon from the gunner icon.

Press the E Key will show you the recognition manual.

Press the arrow on the recognition manual cover to shift through the different ship categories.

Press the manual cover to open it.

Use the red arrows to turn the pages.

When you see the target in the recognition manual send the mast height to the TDC.

You need to do this as you are going to use the stadimeter.

Press the E key again and it will all disappear, very useful if you need to use it again in a hurry.

Pause the game and place the periscope cross hair on the targets water line.

Press the stadimeter button that is on top of the range dial and bring it down to the top of the flag.

Press the enter Key.

Un-pause the game.

If you click on the range in the TDC you should see the mast height showing.

Try and take more than 1 stadimeter range so you get an accurate distance calculation.

You might find the navigator will also make some TDC calculations.
