Default Cannot comply message

Why am I getting this message ? Cannot comply . I'm cruiseing along just fine on the surface. My torpedoes have reloaded. I spot an enemy ship and all of a sudden my subs dead in the water. Crew seems to be in proper positions. This is exasperating.

Hi mjb
Sounds like a fatigue problem.
Are you working your crew to death?

He was probably trying to ask, "Are you working your crew to death?" Good old spell checker, not a clue regarding syntax.

I'd guess Berbster's suspicions are correct, cruising around for days with the same men on watch in every compartment.

But, we don't know what version of SH3 he's running and what, if any MODs are installed, etc. Insufficient information to really pinpoint the cause of the problem.

Yep, sounds like the old crew fatigue problem.

Individual crew members will have a red exclamation mark on their picture. A compartment has a green line across the top which drops as the crew inside get tired till finally they can not do what is being asked.

Thanks, I think I've got it figured out. I moved some crewmen around and rested others in the crew's compartment. And when I reassigned them to the Diesel engines, everything was OK. So I realize now how to manage the crew's fatigue. Greatly appreciate the help.
