Default Bluescreens on games

hi, I just had my PC upgraded slightly, i used to have cracked XP SP1, now i have legit SP2, but with 3 games i have (ArmA, Medal of honor Airborne, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R Clear Sky) it bluescreens with a stop code that is 0x0000007F (0x000000D, and a bunch of 0x00000's after that) there is no explanation at the top like BAD_POOL_HEADER or anything like that...
what is causing this problem?

PS, it only happens to games that are fairly recent, and my computer exceeds the system requirements, FarCry, SHIV, Flight Simulator 2004, and Call of Duty:UO work fine

#1 Install SP3 and Update fully

#2 Check cooling. Overheating often causes BSODs.

#3 Ensure all hardware is seated properly.

#4 Do a full scan with anti spyware and virus.

my mom (a network tech and PC help desk technician) and stepdad (a self-taught PC tech) dont want me to install SP3

I use my video card and the fan on the cover to gauge heat, and they are both cooler than what they were.

and i have 4 anti virus and spywares and windows firewall running, I'll run a scan when i get home (im at my girlfriends at the mo)

and about the hardwqare seating, ill check that when i get home again.

thanks for the advice

My bugcheck list says that 0x7F can indicate a mismatch of memory modules or defective memory as one possible cause - have you put any ram in lately?

Another possible is heat buildup from overclocking.

Installing incompatible applications, drivers or services can also produce it.

It involves Intel CPU's rather than Athlon - don't know why that is.

If you recently upgraded hardware, is it possible that you might have scratched a trace on the mobo, or knocked a component ( hope not!)?

0x7F bugs can also be titled 'Unexpected Kernel Mode Trap'. This means, I think that the execution of instructions the CPU is involved in is not to do with such as games software but system software, which is trusted - but I do not know enough on the subject of debugging to be sure. Perhaps you can glean some more info from the web or someone else on here.

I would install SP3 mom and dad aren't always right techs or no techs. SP 3 update gfx drivers, disable antivirus/firewall when playing games. And no with firewall down your pc data wont get stolen from some gremlin over the internet. I have no firewall / antivirus running when im online gaming and done this for years.
