Thanks for posting! Enjoyed watching that.
Interesting to see that they used the oxygen candles to breathe, I had always assumed that on nuke boats that they had oxygen generators because they had "unlimited" electricity supply. Guess that had not been invented/perfected yet! Guess they had high confidence in that sub to take it so far away from its home port on a shake down cruise. They would be a long way from help should something go wrong, I could not imagine how bad it would be if they ran into issues off Cape Horn!

It's always fascinating watching these old 50s films. There's just something about it all. You're looking at this engineering which is both state-of-the art and unbelievably antiquated all at the same time, with the cheesy old voice-over underpinning it all with that early cold-war propaganda feel
