Default Repair times question

I use GWX3 and PatSH3r patch.

I had my 2 periscopes damaged (a little too close to the keel of a passing ship) and later when I surfaced, and put a repair crew on the job, I was given a 1 minute estimate. I do understand that the time is only an estimated time but this repair job has now been going on for near 90 minutes and they are still working on it. The flak guns were repaired in less than a minute earlier but the periscope job just don't seem to end.

Any idea what this is all about?

Does the periscope show under repair? It is possible you damaged the scopes beyond repair! U-333 lost everything even the UZO, and had to strap binoculars to the bridge, and only attack on the surface! Good luck.

They were repairing the scopes. The wrench icon moved as it would and should and a few minutes after I posted the OP, both scopes were back in action.

I was really wondering though how having the compartment manned affected repairs and experimented with moving the bridge crew around to marvel the newly repaired AA guns, and the deck gun, just to see if that would make any difference. No difference that I could tell between having a watch crew and having a gun crew, or at least the estimated time stayed at 00:01 the whole time for the scope repairs. Left the watch crew to stay on the bridge and about 50 minutes later, the timers finally reached zero and both scopes were ready again.

Sure do. One oberleutnant with repair speciality together with a stabsoberbootsmann with repair speciality, and one other petty officer for a full bar in the repair "compartment". The repair icon was moving and the timer was active.

i am really contemplating the possibility that something is horribly wrong with either this career, this mod soup or this installation.

Excessive repair times is one thing, now I had a Flower corvette spot me at 13 km (June 1940, no radar, weather clear skies, moderate visibility, 15 m/s wind). The stealth indicator went red and stayed red while no ships were in sight, for a few minutes when the watch crew shouted "ship spotted" and a flower came racing straight for me at flank speed. I couldn't even spot the smoke until about 30 seconds later when I ordered close the hatches and down to 80, rig for silent running, as he was about 5000 meters away from me at that point.

13 km? And he spotted me in rough sea? No way I say. Still, the bleedin critter is a few hundred meters away now depth charging like he's celebrating something.

Yeah a royal mess I would say. Really don't look forward to a reinstall.

(Which is looking more and more like the only option. The game is now rapidly disintegrating with the keyboard malfunctioning while the game is running, fine when I quit the game)
