I got lotsa space on hard drive and I like to apply mods via JSGME.

If there is no new updates coming for SH3 anymore
may I suggest to make a new installer for 2.1 that
  • does not require previous version at all
  • would have an option for "extract to MODS folder"
Now that would be awsome imo.

Why not just use Multi-SH3 to make an extra SH3 installation?
It wouldn't use much more disk space, and you wouldn't have the hassle of enabling/disabling the whole of GWX in JSGME.

You could extract it
There are ways
BUT
The installer has a built in checker
If it finds an install anything other than stock it will give you an error message and abort
JSGME it in over a modded install and you will have no end of problems

As OLC said
Multiple installs are easy to do
My Ubi folder has 10
4 for SH4 and 6 for SH3

Anyhoo, t'was an idea I just wanted to throw out here,
incase there's a new installed coming up.
Now that I know that the installer does not edit files then
I can easily make GWX 2.1 MOD folder and apply it from there.
Thanks for info.

AWESOME!!1! modification btw. (...and so are OLC mods too.)

Good Luck extracting the 2.1 files.

Not sure how many people can actually do it.

Install Right and watch.

And there's probably more out there but those I got installed allready in this PC.
Im gonna go for InstallWatch and see if it can do the job for me.

Cheers.

Hey Guys....quick question about the Merchant Shipping Lanes.

They refelect the year your sub is sailing in....as well as the Frequency of the Single ships?
I've been off the Coast of Ireland Sept,1940 for about 30 days and havent run into a Convoy or a Single Merchant.

Thanks in Advance....I just want to make sure i have everything Loaded Correctly.......

If you are talking about the "merchant lanes" on the stock SH3 map, then they give a general route where merchants or convoys travel.

Are you using GWX? That could have an effect on the travel routes somewhat. If you want accurate convoy routes check this link.

Although we no longer send in contact reports it is fairly accurate.

Good Hunting Herr Kaluen!

If I download GWX 2.0 then the 2.1 update do I need the "AOTD ship" patch also located on the grey wolves page or the trawler fix or are these in the latest 2.1 file?

No you need them as well but they are not critical for the game stability

I highly recommend the AOTD mod because of the additional ships, AA boats, and locks it has incorporated in it.

Why? 3.0 is the best version, and it's readily available.

For S-Boat mod. It is compatible only with stock version or GWX 2.1.
