Default Making of das boot

I found some rare footage and i was looking for it for quite some time. It shows the life size surface models and the 6 meter long underwater model. Quite interesting and gives us something interesting on this forum for a change

This "Making of..." is included on the German 6h VHS Tape Box version, but unfortunately was not taken on the 6h DVD version.

by comparing the movements of the boat with the film crew to that 6ft model, it just goes to show quite clearly how you just cant have realistic look using a model because no matter what camera angle or lens you use the differences in scale of the waves will always look 10 times bigger and the sub moves 10 times more dramatically then it should.

yet some people who never spent time on the water and never saw open ocean or an expansive water environment always think those movie waves and dramatic bobbing and porpoising of the subs are how its supposed to be in order to be realistic lol.

I would leave it in front of our house to swim in the brook, but the water is not deep enough to dive.

When I win the next lotto.... It will be mine!!!!!

Then I will build a pool large enough to dive it to periscope depth.

Then all of you will have to come over and play.

We will need a destroyer though.

I'm not Bernard though.
