How do I install RSRDC? Unzip it and what? I'm running off of the stock gold edition.

You are going to need a mod enabler such as JSGME. Google that, download and install, read and learn how to use it as it has some really neat features to protect and manage your install. Then you can go about installing RSRDC. Come back if you have more questions.

I've been having a problem with the realism settings.

Normally I play with everything on except for the realistic targeting. I know, I know, but I'm a bit more of a casual player and frankly i've never been able to get the hang of manual targeting.

Every time I start a career the realism settings seem to reset to 100%, with only manual targeting being available. Before starting the career I set them how I want them in the options, but then when my first mission starts sure enough I'm locked into manual only targeting. When I exit to the main menu and go into options again everything is back to 100% realism. Yes, I'm choosing to accept the changes, clicking yes, etc. before exiting the options menu.

Here is what I'm using, it's pretty basic. This is in the order that I installed them:

RFB_v1.52_102408
RFB_v1.52_Patch_18Jan09
RSRDC_RFBv15_V420

Any ideas? This looks great, and I want to get into it, but it's just frustrating when I can't really do what submarines are supposed to - sink enemy tonnage.

You need to address this over in the RFB thread as RSRDC doesn't make changes to thoses settings

Are you changing your difficulty settings from the main menu, or from the OFFICE in the campaign?

If the former, it has no bearing on the campaign. You need to change the settings in the office (on the bookshelf to the left of the desk).

Default CTD with RSRD 410 and TMO 163

Hi, I am fairly new to SH3 and Sh4. I have downloaded the TMO 162 with 163 patch, and the RSRD TMO 410 . I installed them in this order, TMO 162 full, 163 patch, RSRD TMO 410. I was doing my first patrol on a carreer, and was going along fine, then all of a sudden I got the evil CTD. I had ran on x1 compression for a little bit, it was a mission that was only 880nm away, then cranked it up to x16. So I started another one again out of Manillia. but again CTD and I had let it run at x1 compression. So I finally tried it out of Pearl at x1 and just about the time I got between the islands nw of Pearl again CTD. I uninstalled the RSRD and tried again with just TMO 163, again mission to the south about 880nm and ran for a couple of hours and no problems yet. Is there a bug with these two working together I am not aware of? all I have read about RSRD and what little I have seen, I really like it, but this CTD is driving me nuts. I think I installed them correctly and in the right order, I even uninstalled everything SH4 included and started from a clean install and the same. Could someone help me find where I went wrong or what I need to do to correct this?

Require the following info

1. Start date
2. Task Group
3. Start location
4. Type of sub
5. A complete list of all mods and what order they are installed in.

de-install the 3 radio mods , there the cause of your problem. I have seen this more times than I can count.
