Thanks GWX team! You guys set the bar for high quality modding! Few game communities have such professional mod makers as SH3. Love the work! Merry Christmas!

You guys rule! Thanks for the SH3 commander answer (and thanks to BBWooly too!)

Question about the SH3 Commander files and the newer Winzip. whenever I try and unzip them using file/folder structure it just creates a new folder in my SH3 commander/cfg folder (called GWX_2.1_Cfg_4_SH3Cmdr3.0) instead of installing the files where they should be. How do you install the files (without having to manually unzip each file into each folder?). When I click "Extract" I have the "All files/folders in current folder" button selected and "open Explorer window" and "overwrite exsisting files" checked as well as the SH3 Commander\Cfg folder highlighted.

Damn this new Winzip.... you would think I was a n00b with this crap....I must be missing something simple here.

thanks!

Faamecanic,

I recommend DL'ing and installing 7zip. It seems much easier to use IMHO.

Here is their home-page. (Free download)

Thanks Kpt. I have always used WINZIP because it was easy.... just goes to show that when change happens to "help" the user it always mucks things up (every new release of MS Office has me cursing "Daddy" Gates for "helping").

EDIT: I must be having a BAD blonde moment ..... 7zip does the same thing. The Readme says to unzip the entire archieve to the SH3 Commander\Cfg folder. I do that and all it does is create the above folder (GWX_2.1_Cfg_4_SH3Cmdr3.0) in the Cfg folder. I guess I will just have to manually extract the files.... what a PITA.

Fantastic! I really had the impression that GWX for SH3 was dead and work was only done on the new GWX for SH4. I'm glad I was mistaken.

Thanks a lot again. This mod is absolutely the best thing ever to happen to a simulation game. You're GREAT

Merry Christmas and have some nice holidays and a happy new year. You've earned it.

As We correct the files for Commander,
I'll look at makeing the placement of the files easier.
Maybe a small installer much like the installer for GWX 3?

Then you'd need no program to decompress the files.
And you'd just select where you want the files to be placed.
Suggestions?

The easier the install is, the more everyone's going to like it. I will say the install for 3.0 is almost too easy. Makes you think you did something wrong.

Awesome job overall. I'm already 28000 tons into the Allies as we speak

Jep. Unfortunately I didn't have much time for sub simming, but decided to buy SH4 a few days ago, and by chance stumbled over this thread today. Now I'll definitely make the time

Thanks Kpt.

Each build of the installer takes just over an hour.
Then testing it adds another hour or so.

Then adjustments to the code, build again, test, etc.

I went to the greatest lenghts to insure this installer was as flawless
as I could get it in the time allowed.

To see that everyone is happy with it at this point
makes my Christmas Day!!
