Now I'm learning it may be possible to have different versions of php in different folders... so why not run the old CMS on the older version and add the new WP CMS to a newer version...?

So, successfully installed good ol' Nucleus in a subfolder, upgraded to a version that works with newer (but not newest) PHP and MySQL, and imported the database... wow! Nice, now I am really unsure about WP. Nucleus still rocks.
Hmm... maybe it's time to examine the WP php and see if I can get WP to call the Nucleus db and populate a "blog" that way, using different categories... That should be interesting.

Oh man, this is amazing...found a demo for the Japanese fork of Nucelus...
https://www.softaculous.com/demos/Nucleus You can log in and play with the CMS. I noticed the default post had 500+ spam comments, so I logged in and deleted them... within seconds there were 12 new ones...I guess there's some kind of automated spam scripter locked in on that post...wild.
