Can you explain further? I really don't know what you mean. To me, Subsim is a group. It's clear that's not what you mean.

There are several of these for SH3. The earliest I'm aware of is Wolves At War, which is over a decade old and started life as the Iblitz Campaign for SH2. WaW started an SH4 forum a couple of years ago with both Atlantic and Pacific campaigns, but I'm not sure if anything ever came of it. http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=196539

I'd be in for a ComSubPac for SH4.

I used to do that will 688 but without the multiple functionanilty working across the board with other players I do not see how that would work and keep interest.
...but that is just me ...

well, maybe if i get enough interest..i guess i could attempt to start something, would be a waste of my time to get all set up and have only one or two people join..ill set up a poll to see what results i will get and if im satisfied with them then i might just have to start something

Years ago I was a member of a online campaign using the original Silent Hunter. It was called "Pacific Thunder" and was a lot of fun. You were assigned a particular sub and given orders. You went on patrol and then submitted a detailed patrol report. You could chose difficulty, base of ops, manual or auto TDC...etc.
http://www.valoratsea.com/PTCfaq.htm Seems that this might be similar to what you are suggesting? Only problem I have with the idea is that when SHCE was first out I was single and could play every night after dinner until I went to bed. Now married with kids I barely have the time to play at all.

I was in an online group called the "Pacific Thunder Campaign" using SH1 SHCE. I joined in Feb 2002, met a lot of guys I'm still friends with... even found a distant Cousin in the UK.
When XP came out people had trouble installing SHCE - Silent Hunters Commanders Edition and membership declined to 30 - 35 or so. When SH4 came out some of us tried using it instead for the campaign, but by then most members were mostly interested in SH3 & U-Boats. The Grey Wolves mod was so outstanding - people still love it. The well made and highly researched, Guerrilla Submarines Spyron Mod is based on the missions we used for the PTC using SH4 - US Subs in the Pacific Theater. It is an off-site mod available here: http://www.subsowespac.org/silent-hunter-4-mods.shtml It is still my favorite choice of campaign to use with SH4. Happy Hunting!

I am so embarrassed. When I mentioned the age of WaW I completely forgot about you guys. I would say it's a good bet that you are the oldest Sub Campaign out there.

Now there isn't much going on although some of us still keep in touch. Happy Hunting!
