Evening all - I played SH a good long time ago - It probably appealed to me as I have a naval (albeit civilian) background, and I'm getting back into SH4 thanks to White/Winter Owl. Doing some serious modding, it looks like the collection available is rather prodigious ;D

See you on the open seas

Hi everyone, I was looking for a WWII game and happened upon silent hunter 5, so I checked out youtube to see some gameplay and subsim was highly advised, so I bought the game and here I am, trying to figure out how to sink ships.

Hats off to the hardcore modders on here too. I don't have a clue how some of you guys can figure out how to polish up these games so well, but it never fails to impress. It's the reason I bought SH5 after all; even though it was a pretty terrible release in its vanilla state, I knew it was only a matter of time before the modding community would be bringing it up to the same level of immersion and enjoyment that I've received from SH3 and SH4 for so many years. So, to wrap it up, just wanted to make a quick post since I've never done so before and give a shout out to everyone who exchanges so much helpful information and insight on the forum boards here. Happy hunting!
