Getting ready to set up my precinct for the election on Tuesday. Picked up all the admin stuff today, the secured stuff will be delivered on Monday and Monday evening I start setting up as much as I can. It is about 6 hours prep time followed by 17 hours on election day. Exhausting but satisfying.

My feet are already hurting in anticipation.

I'm hoping to be standing behind a stall with my paintings on sale at a local Christmas Fair on Saturday. Never done anything like this before, so I don't know what will happen

Went to the VA this morning for an consultation with the Ophthalmology department. I was expecting them to tell me my blood sugars needed to come down even more before they could operate, but this time they gave me an injection into my left eye to help with the retinopathy that was already there, then scheduled me for two cataract surgeries. They'll be replacing the right lens on December 5th and the left one on December 17th. By Christmas I won't need to wear glasses for the first time in almost sixty years.

But you will be in pain for Christmas ... take the meds they give you and wear sunglasses ...

The reason they don't do both eyes at the same time is in case something goes wrong

Couldn't attend one of the local war memorials today for personal reasons but watched on tv and observed the two minutes silence.

The dog sat opposite watching me and no doubt wondering why I was quite upset.
