Default Date For Duds

After what date can I assume the m14 Torpedo dud problem has been fixed?

I'm currently loading up with m23s but would like the extra distance if needed.

I'm in a tweaked TMO. Don't want to mod around it. Just wondering if it gets fixed or if I should just leave them off my loadout.

Many Thanks.

I believe sometime early 1943. The MK14 is reliable after that.

Been a while since I played TMO without my torpedo mod but if I recall TMO default dud's are fixed in late September of 43, believe Sept 24. However if you are on patrol the the duds wont stop until you dock and start a new patrol.

One way if youre trying to play historical for the work around that was used until new firing pins were fashioned and deployed andd want to keep the Mark 14's for the extra range is to fire so torpedoes impact at smaller angles. impact of 70-90 degrees has over a 90 percent chance of dud, 90-100 same. Set up solution so impact is less tan 70, more acute the angle is, duds are unlikely.Definitely makes for a challenge but is possible.
