Has anyone checked out if the sea is modelled as deep as it should be in the fjords of Norway?
I remember in SH3 it was only about 30m deep which was very wrong as it is much much deeper there in real life.

Heh, I remember that. Terrain was scaled down not only horizontally, but also vertically, so the deep fjords of Norway weren't even deep enough for a battlecruiser to sink below the waterline. "Herr Kapitan, we're going down! Hold on tight 'til we've hit the bottom... ah, there we go. Now everyone calmly abandon ship."

Sognefjorden, for an extreme example, has a maximum depth of 1,308 metres. Not exactly something you'd calmly dive your sub into, or expect to survive if your sub is experiencing heavy flooding.

I'll have to do a Norway Inspection when I get this game.

Video please? You are, after all, a video master.

And the game performs really well - these looks come at the exact same FPS figures as SHIV to me, and that is great.
That's good to hear. Maybe I won't need so much of an upgrade after all.

Meanwhile, the terrain is absolutely gorgeous overall:
Yes it is!

Recognize that? It's Kiel - so much closer to the real thing!
That is awesome!

I notice there are no bridges, but Hansolo78 has made those for WAC, and they should fit in with a little wedging.

Thanks for the pics. They are the best I've seen so far.

I like the shot of the sub leaving the pen...except there weren't any in 1939. One more thing needing to be fixed.

I'm sorry, but did you really have to repost every single picture just to ask one simple question?

I'll qualify that a little. Quoting one picture for the sake of drawing attention to it is perfectly fine. A good example is Neal's post here:

I usually just quote the picture's URL, with a link to the image.

Also, you cuold just post "Re. picture of harbour" or something.

If anyone wants to quote the posts with images please remove the images from the post so the forum isnt filled with duplicate images filling the whole page.

Note - if your reply is based on the images then use them in that context but please just use the image or images you are talking about and leave out the others as much as you can.

I like the new foam, it's very nice when you see it up close.
There are... "sfasticks"? I read no Germans symbols in the game...

I'd be glad to, but actually I've always had technical issues with sound capture, so the work-around I have to use is kind of backwards and takes a lot of time. And 3D sound is just kind of not the same when you put it in video...

But basically for the diesel compartment, think the line "Und hier ist Johann... Unser Gespenst" from Das Boot. Game does a great job of capturing that experience

And here's more odds and ends as far as screens - continuing slowly to sea on my first "real" patrol.

Sunrise:

Passing Brunsbuttel in the morning:

And out into the Bight:

New wake effects:

And this should be recognizable too...

Helgoland!

Stopped by for some supplies and 3D shadows

And out to the North Sea:
