another successful attack:

The solution is plugged exactly from the map readings (map update "on"). I aimed at the bow and midships and the torps hit where I was aiming. The gyro angle takes into account not only the aim point, but the fact that the TGT is moving right to left at 10 knots.

You are able to switch from the mini map to the scope while paused, which is helpful.

The Stadimeter does work, I finally figured it out. There is a black line which appears which you line up with the topmast and you get an accurate range reading.

But it's not the end of the world and it can be fixed. Actually, one supremely ironic thing in all this is that while people were screaming about the game devs spending far too much resources on the sub interior and characters, I have to say that it is obvious from the game that this is NOT where most of the development effort went. The sub interior is still very much a compromise for performance, and you can tell it's a somewhat rough job. Under the skin however, I do sense a lot of very positive changes here.

As for being an interior skeptic, this scene suddenly sold me on why the interior is awesome:

What more to show? Requests?
Could you show us the VIIB in game? I would like to see if the conning tower is modeled correctly. Thanks in advance.
